Cilantro (Coriandrum sativum) is an annual herb from the Umblefla family.
Every part of the plant (seeds, fresh leaves) is used as a condiment, flavoring, or medicinal ingredient.
It is very important in Indian, South American, and European cuisine.
The plant grows to a height of 40 to 70 cm.
General Tips for Growing Cilantro:
- Prefers soils that are medium-textured and well-drained.
- It does not thrive in waterlogged soils.
- It is quite resistant to cold but grows better in mild conditions.
- Easy to cultivate; can be sown in gardens or pots.
- Plant the seeds in rows, spaced 30 cm apart, at a depth of 1 cm.
Cilantro does not usually encounter excessive phytosanitary problems, although aphids may occur and fungal issues can arise under excessive moisture.
